Dave's destiny

Dave Bragg has been a good friend for almost 30 years and has travelled well over a thousand miles on Whatever It Takes, all on rivers or canals. Somewhere along the way Dave picked up the name "River Rat"

Dave lives with his lovely wife Gloria in a very nice home back in Ohio. I believe we found a place where Dave can be truly happy, maybe even dabble in politics.

We travelled 60 miles today and anchored out in what we thought was Bates Lake. This was the spot suggested by two different people who know the river. Turns out Bates Lake was a 1/2 mile further down stream than what we thought was Bates Lake. It was a little skinny getting in but the anchorage was very protected and remote. We heard coyotes throughout the night and some strange sounds from the nearby jungle.

Tomorrow we travel to Mobile and complete this leg of the journey.

River Rat himself with Rat in training, Chris.

This one falls in the "small world" category. We met Terry Gowin along the way. Terry owns a roofing business in Cartersville, GA just 20 minutes from our office in Tunnel Hill GA and we have actually bid on projects together.

DINNER !

Almost Bates Lake, home for the night.
