Didn't ask us to join...

When asked about his options of joining a private club, W. C. Fields was quoted as saying;

" I wouldn't join any club that would have the likes of me."

We docked at a wonderful private country club/marina tonight, Admirals Cove, in Jupiter, Florida. The guys really enjoyed the spa and were sure to pick up some souvenirs for the family.

Travelling 60 miles in a full day is usually considered a short run, but today we were exhausted from dealing with heavy boat traffic and more than 20 bridges. Most of the bridges were lift types and we had to wait at them. All of the bridges were           "No Wake Zones".

When I was 19 years old and my Dad was 44 we moved a home with the plan to fix it up and sell it for a profit. Well we got the house moved and sold but the profit was lacking. It was a great experience and we still talk about it occasionally. This sight brought back a lot of memories.

"Hey Dad, at least we didn't have to float the damn thing to a new location".

The following pictures are of the Admirals Cove Marina. We were fortunate enough to get a dock at this wonderful private country club/ marina in Jupiter. Florida. We were told that Tiger plays this golf course often and occasionally docks his yacht here.

Pretty tough duty for the crew, but it beats the hell out of work.

  1. To Dick and His Crew

    Great to see you've made an incredible trip around the keys and back up the coast. So glad to see you travelled up the Intracoastal from Miami, despite the slow travel the homes can be beautiful and your photos have always been great.

    You're just south of my home in Port St. Lucie, and I'll go fishing tomorrow off our main causeway and hope to catch a photo if you guys head up the Indian River.

    As a Cleveland native, I have enjoyed following your posts and trip/s for the last 2 years and wish you "fair winds and following seas".

    Hope to see the Whatever It Takes IV cruising up the Indian River tomorrow. And to your benefit you'll rarely run into a no wake zone for quite a while.

    Welcome to Florida!
