You Win

Yesterday we travelled 70 miles without a depth sounder or working generator. Today we did not leave port until 4:00 because we had a diver check the bottom of the boat for obstructions in the water intake of the generator, a mechanic replace the water pump on the generator, and a technician repair the depth sounder.

Today we travelled 30 miles without a depth sounder or a working generator. The generator went out again after ten minutes on the water and the Depth sounder should be good tomorrow (had to wait for the sealant to cure).
We travelled up the Cape Fear River and across the cut into the Neuss River arriving at Seapath Marina around 6:30. We docked next to a beautiful 66 foot, three story yacht. Tim, the yachts owner, (and a great guy) stopped to admire "Whatever It Takes". Tim explained that in 1963 his grandfather took their family on a 4 week cruise through the Bahamas on his 36 foot Matthews. After coming aboard and taking a brief tour, Tim's only comment was "You win".
This old gal turns heads and brings back memories to so many boaters we have met.

A fishing boat from a Hitchcock movie.

We hired Jason, a local diver, to inspect the bottom of the boat. He was amazed that there was absolutely NO algae growth or barnacles. A real testament for the silicone bottom paint (my own formulae).

Clearing skies after a rain storm.

As we pulled into port there were at least 50 swimmers in the middle of the bay (one next to this boat, two others in front). This was one of the spotters (or maybe border patrol).

The ICW during a gentle rain.

Dave in his usual position and location.

We were tickled to have Walters cousins, Sue and Kenny Morris, stop in and visit tonight.
