New York, N Y...Atlantic City, N J... and Uncle Fester

Tucker's impression of John Belushi's single eyebrow lift (with Manhattan in the background).

Danette and I motored out of my N Y dock at 7:00 AM sharp, I explained to Danette the night before that the trip to Atlantic City was about 90 miles with 20 of it being the N Y Harbor and around Sandy Hook (before we got into the Atlantic Ocean). Our plan was to arrive at Atlantic City - Trump Marina by 5:00 (10 hours). Believe it or not we actually started into the Atlantic City Harbor at 4:57 (blind squirrel). The seas were about 4 feet which made me lose some sleep the night before. 4 foot waves in Lake Erie are suicidal in Whatever It Takes, the locals assured me we would do just fine and the waves were 7 seconds apart.  "What the hell does that mean?!"

What it meant was the waves weren't waves at all, just fairly gentle swells that would raise the boat every 7 seconds. Whatever It Takes became a "Rolls Canardly", she rolls down one side of the wave and canardly make it up the other side!

It was a pleasant trip across the ocean, but getting out of the N Y Harbor had a few tense moments. Feels good to be underway again, tomorrow we travel the Delaware Bay.

First night on the boat, she thinks everyday will be like this..BWA HA HA.

For those who have used the steps on my boat this will make sense. A neighbor in N Y gave me the correct part and showed me how to use it to make the steps stable.  Tucker is thankful.

On the water taxi to Manhattan, Danette talked me into going.

Glad I went!!!

The new World Trade Center under construction.

My neighbor in N Y, Atouille. Yet another pretty French girl.

Tucker got along very well with "Uncle Fester". Our very nice neighbor with engine problems.

Leaving N Y Harbor this morning.

Much easier to look at than the previous crew members.
If we have problems at sea I will allow Danette to present herself as Captain. Our odds of getting help would be greatly improved.

Danette and I docked here in Atlantic City with no dock hands to help.

The end of a long day.
